Human Institution Development Program
The Human & Institutional Development Unit has been established in RCDS with the
objective to strengthen institutions and build the capacity of individuals according
to the organizational program and projects needs. It recognizes the significance
of the institutional building, networking programs, training and capacity building
of staff and community to use integrated approached and tools for poverty alleviation
in remote areas.
The HID Unit conducts both generic and specialized training courses for the employees.
These strengths will be built upon in the coming years to expand and consolidate
this valuable source of management. The HID program aims at establishing and training
community organizations at grassroots and makes them capable of addressing social,
economic and political issues prevailing at grassroots level. It also helps in ensuring
adequate utilization of human and social capital, enhancing communities trust and
networking and promoting democratic culture and traditions in the society.
The HID unit provides training, arranges regular events on different topics selected
by communities on community management, designing, planning, implementation of development
interventions, savings and individual lending at local level, livestock management,
horticulture enterprise development technique, technical trainings, etc.
Attention is also paid towards building linkages among organizations at local levels
as well as national level so that they could share the process of national development
on sustainable basis. Formation of the poor representative and locally accepted
organizations created excellent results. Once organized, communities started thinking
and reacting collectively and sharing their experiences and issues with each other.
Consequently, mutual understanding and trust among them was built. People, instead
of waiting for some external help, started thinking over their issues themselves.
Over 2500 community members, majority of them women, got orientation on different
issues of political, social and economic significance at the events organized by
the HID Unit. Democratic Rights and Citizens’ Education Program and Voters Education
and Advocacy left huge impact with respect to political empowerment of communities.
