RCDS prioritizes Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation to enhance the resilience of vulnerable communities facing increasing climate-related hazards and disasters. The organization works with communities to strengthen their preparedness, response capacities, and adaptive practices to reduce the impacts of floods, heatwaves, and other climate-induced risks.

Under this thematic area, RCDS has reached 32,300 households through community-based disaster preparedness initiatives, awareness sessions, and capacity-building activities. These interventions focus on strengthening early warning awareness, community contingency planning, climate-resilient practices, and the protection of livelihoods and essential assets during emergencies.By promoting risk-informed planning and climate adaptation measures, RCDS supports communities in reducing disaster vulnerabilities, safeguarding lives and livelihoods, and building long-term resilience to the impacts of climate change.
