RCDS prioritizes institutional development and governance as a core thematic area to strengthen community-led development and local decision-making structures. Through its social mobilization approach, RCDS has successfully organized and trained 121,700 households, integrating them into community-based institutions including Community Organizations (COs), Village Organizations (VOs), and Local Support Organizations (LSOs). These platforms empower communities to collectively identify their needs, plan development initiatives, and effectively engage with government and development partners.By building the capacity of these grassroots institutions through regular trainings, leadership development, and governance support, RCDS promotes transparency, accountability, and inclusive participation, particularly for women and marginalized groups. This institutional strengthening enables communities to take ownership of local development processes, enhance resilience to socio-economic and environmental challenges, and ensure the sustainability of development interventions at the local level.
